The Making of a Legend, Little Brown Jug, 2009 |
I spent the day yesterday with my husband at the Little Brown Jug. For those who haven't heard of it, it is a historical horse race where standardbred horses race once a year. It takes place at the Delaware County Fairgrounds in Ohio. It draws a tremendous crowd, of horse racing fans, it is also a great source of material for those who like to paint horses... and cows and goats and llamas for that matter.
I took some great photos which should keep me busy for at least a few weeks. I have a painting from last year of the winner of the jug, as he waited in his stall for his turn to race. I will share the new paintings as they come.
