I have finished a small painting in acrylics on canvas board. I broke open the paints and brushes which a friend gave to me and immediately smelled my mom's art studio from many years back. As my family slept, I painted later than I should, but felt as though Mom was there with me, painting. What fun.
Now I have not tried the oils, but tried out the acrylics instead.
|SOLD! A Long Ride Ahead|
It was not easy and definitely different than the watercolors, but this is what I came up with.
I think I will head back to watercolor to build back some confidence, but I am sure I will dive back into my treasure box of acrylics, and maybe break open some of the oils, I will be sure to keep you posted.
Tips are always welcome on this painting journey!
I love how the tail tells of the movement of the horse....like they were leisuring walking along.ReplyDelete

Carol and Gary, thanks for looking, I am working on a giraffe painting and hope to post more next week, this one is watercolor, but I have a few more ideas for acrylics. It seems as though the more I paint, the more I see around me that needs to be painted!ReplyDelete
I'm enjoying your paintings and progress- each one lovingly done with a different approach for each - big courage!ReplyDelete
Thanks Robin, It is a lot of fun, when I don't worry too much about the outcome, it seems one of the keys is to just keep painting......ReplyDelete
