This is the latest watercolor, measuring 8 by 10 inches on Arches 140 pound cold press paper. My daughter has always loved horses and when she was young her grandpa used to let her ride this paint pony, and brush him and feed him. It was like heaven to her. Well now she is older and rides, feeds and brushes her own horse (he is much taller!).
Hope Thanksgiving is wonderful for everyone, there is so much to be thankful for.
Don't feed too many Thanksgiving morsels to your dog, take them for a walk instead!
What a beautiful painting Maria! I LOVE the feeling you've captured here, it's one I can relate to and I'm sure others do as well. :) Just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks Crystal, something about little girls and their horses always gets me.....Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteVery sweet painting, evocative of a fondly remembered time :) xx
ReplyDeletePat I think they grow up too quickly, photos and paintings are wonderful to
ReplyDeletehelp remember.
Beautiful, soft colors and you really captured a sweet moment!
ReplyDeleteThank you Theresa, it seems that people either have that love for horses or they don't, and these two, grandpa and grandchild, have both been stricken with the love of horses since birth!
ReplyDeleteMaria,
ReplyDeleteLove your watercolors. So beautiful with soft colors that are still rich! This one is sweet- great job.
Kathy, thanks for looking, I appreciate your kind words, they really mean so much.
ReplyDeleteMaria - you've captured it! I'm enjoying the way you relate people and animals - especially horses!
ReplyDeleteThat is the greatest complement, as that has been my goal, to show the relationship of horses and pets to their people. Thank you for seeing that!
