Well this painting is from one of his photos, and I am having a lot of fun with it. Focusing on values, trying not to get caught up in details. I will post the finished product, as soon as I finish.
Not sure of the story behind these horses, but the picture reminds me of a wild horse photographer I met at a horse show. Here is a link to her web site, she takes amazing pictures.
Beautiful start, will be a great painting. I am going to post this week, some paintings that horses did from this horse rescue I volunteer at. We are trying to raise money, and are selling the horse masterpieces! I will explain how they did them!
ReplyDeleteThank you Mary Anne, I can't wait to see the horse art work, what a great idea, I will link the paintings here when you post them. It is so sad to see so many unwanted horses, and the rescue groups do amazing work to place them.
ReplyDeleteIt's looking beautiful, can't wait to see the finished piece!
ReplyDeleteTheresa, I am going to be very careful and try not to get too stuck in the details, I am working on keeping my focus on the values, we will see how it goes!
ReplyDeleteThe horses are looking spectacular! I don't think I have ever painted one, and by the way your people on the beach are good also. I have a huge phobia with painting people- I hope to work on that soon!
ReplyDeleteSheryl
Horses are the easy part, but I agree with you on people, I find them to be a challenge, I bring my sketch pad with me and sketch a lot of people from magazines and catalogs and I must say, they have improved, not great but better! I haven't tried too many in watercolor....yet. Thanks for visiting, I loved your Christmas cards, they are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI really like this one Maria. I'm sorry I've been off my blog lately. My husband and I went on a trip for a few days. Now it's the holidays and you know how that is, I'm sure. I'm also suffering from issues in my neck and shoulder. Now I have to add physical therapy to my never ending list of things to do.
ReplyDeletePlease don't think I've abandoned blogging. Just a bit sidetracked right now. I'm going to get a new post up today.
Gretchen,
ReplyDeleteI have missed your posts and am always excited to see what you have painted next on your blog, I am glad you like this one, I keep thinking I will take a break from horses and do something, new....
Hope you are feeling better, it is no fun to be hurting over the holidays.
