8 by 10 inch watercolor on Arches 140 pound watercolor paper
I painted this study, from a photo from the archives of my brother in law, Jeff. He goes on many hiking adventures across the country and is kind enough to share his fantastic photos. I have talked about Jeff before. Have I thanked you lately Jeff? for sharing with me!?
THANKS JEFF, I LOVE YOUR PHOTOS!
I guess the title to this is fitting with it being a new year and all. I tend to look back too often, think of how I could have done things better, made different choices.
My teenage daughter has recently been my voice of reason (my how things change while raising kids!) and seems to think we all make bad choices and the goal is to make the best choices from where you stand right now. She is determined to only worry about things she can change not about those that are in the past.
Now why didn't I think of that?!
He's lovely, with a nice, soft, "just-enough" background.ReplyDelete
Maria, this is so beautiful! I love everything about it!!!ReplyDelete
Thanks, this one was fun to do, it flowed easier than some of my recent paintings, and I liked the minimal background, it let me concentrate on only one thing at a time!ReplyDelete
He looks so majectic looking! You really did a wonderful job on this!!ReplyDelete
Thanks Joan, I have also enjoyed seeing your watercolors, they are wonderful.ReplyDelete
He is wonderful, you really captured him. I love the colors!ReplyDelete
Thank you Lee, I was lucky to have such a great photo to work from, looking forward to your next painting!ReplyDelete
I love the colors in this one! Although, I think I say that for all of your paintings! Your sense of color combinations is great!!ReplyDelete
Gretchen, I took your advice and try to treat each new painting as a study (I like that word), no pressure to get results, so much more fun! I love your mural that you are working on, you are so talented!ReplyDelete
This is great Maria.. I love the simplicity of the painting and the colors are nice. You know how to work that paint brush :)ReplyDelete
