Aussie, watercolor of an Australian Shepherd

This is a 4 by 6 watercolor of our first Australian Shepherd, Oakley, we lost her a few years back to heart failure.
Unlike our current Aussie (ghetto dog), Oakley was very calm, and dignified.  She only lost her cool when cats were nearby or sledding was involved, she loved to chase the sled down the hill, jumping over it as it went!
(The left side of her head was shadowed, but I think I need to go back and highlight the left eye a bit, it appears as though she had only one eye, but i assure you there were two!)

  1. She looked like a very sophisticated dog. I agree....add a touch of highlight to the left eye.

  2. You did a beautiful job on Oakley's portrait! Aren't Aussies wonderful?!! We have one, too, and he helps me get my pygmy goats into their pens :)

  3. Beautiful girl .
Tis difficult when half the dog is in shadow.. I wouldn't fiddle with it.. the shadow is obvious and the painting looks fine.
