Jazz Man, watercolor painting of saxophone player in the band
Something different for me, an 8 by 10 inch watercolor of my son, in the band concert from school. Started out as a value study for last weeks Painting Challenge, but I have seem to have strayed from the theme of using only one color! It is still a work in progress.... This is zoomed in on the painting....showing just a portion of the work.

I like it, Maria!
ReplyDeleteHe looks like my boy! great job, Diana
ReplyDeleteMaria! This is amazing! I love it! It is so different than all your other paintings.. I get that jazz feeling when I look at this. You could call this finished.. I can't wait to see the final painting..
ReplyDeleteThanks! I am so glad you like it, I loved this photo of him, doing what he loves, I think I will hang it in the library where he practices when I finish it!
ReplyDeleteLooking good, Maria. My grandson is in the band but he plays percussion and he is tiny for 10 y.o. so he is well hidden behind the huge drum; all I see is arms and the tip of his head. LOL Can't wait for him to grow. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteHi Carol and thanks! I am glad that Brent was in the front row, it really helps my picture taking! He told me next year in the new band, he won't be in the front row, I may need a bigger zoom for my camera....
ReplyDeleteLove th composition on this one. It really pulls you into the painting.
ReplyDeleteThanks Carlene, I have framed this and it hangs in the room where my son practices.
