"On The Dark Side" watercolor painting of black horse

watercolor painting of black horse in the field
Ok, there is just something about a black horse, that catches my eye.

While I was taking pictures at the vet clinic, this horse was in the turn out paddock and he kept following me along the fence row, begging to be photographed (and painted!?).

Using the new squirrel hair and sable brushes I bought (on clearance, at Michaels!). I notice a completely different look to my watercolor with these brushes.  It will take a little getting used to, but I think I like it!

  3. Maria, this is absolutely the best watercolor of any black animal I've seen. Catching all the subtlties of color you've rendered this horse perfectly. Awesome job!
