watercolor painting of black horse in the field |
While I was taking pictures at the vet clinic, this horse was in the turn out paddock and he kept following me along the fence row, begging to be photographed (and painted!?).
Using the new squirrel hair and sable brushes I bought (on clearance, at Michaels!). I notice a completely different look to my watercolor with these brushes. It will take a little getting used to, but I think I like it!
Beautiful work maria! I love the shine on his coat and the dust rising. I have a thing for black horses too. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, it's beautiful Maria. So lively and full of movement, fresh and gorgeous brushwork. Keep using those brushes!
ReplyDeleteMaria, this is absolutely the best watercolor of any black animal I've seen. Catching all the subtlties of color you've rendered this horse perfectly. Awesome job!
ReplyDeleteoh, he's gorgeous! I can almost feel the wind in his mane begging him to run :)
ReplyDeleteSquirrels and sables are gorgeous brushes :) xx
Oh Maria, I notice a difference, too! The work is so much more fluid. I love it.
ReplyDeleteThanks Crystal, Carols, Pat and Kathryn, always learning, but I am having a hard time putting these brushes down, my old ones are gathering dust!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful image! What a lovely animal.
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda, I am so easily charmed by a pretty face....
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Maria! I love how all the attention is on the horse and the background is loose- very nice!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sheryl!
ReplyDeleteMaria, I love the movement in the hair.. and the way you faded out the legs! The background was done really well too.. Great job! I always enjoy your horse paintings :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work! I like the way the horse is more in focus and the background/foreground are looser.
