Black Mare, watercolor painting of black horse, close up

watercolor painting of my daughters horse
The last horse show my daughter went to was an outside show and I had little to do but snap pictures, the morning light was just great, and I got some great shots!
I started playing with this while making a sketch for another painting, and I like how it came out.
She is such a pretty mare and so sweet.  I have many great photos of her to paint!  Hope you don't get bored of black horse paintings!

  7. Your recent posts are so challenging. Beautiful job on this horse. The deep umbers are varied and transparent-yet dark...nice

  10. Thanks Theresa, Jackie came from Texas and still has a long hair coat which she refuses to shed but she is still so shiny! My daughter may need to clip her so she wont get so hot after riding, we will see how that goes!
