Island Ponies acrylic painting of two horses Corrolla Outer Banks NC

I found this large (16 by 20 inches) canvas board and was tempted to give a larger acrylic painting a try.  I started with a green ground color and was a little intimidated at first.  Roughed in some horses and then it felt a little more familiar.  After I had the horse shapes in, I was able to darken the background a bit and now it is starting to take some likeness to my reference photo!  Will update you as it progresses!

  4. I enjoy them, but have so much to learn about them! Colors, brushes, canvas.....but I do Love how easy it is to change a color or fix a mistake! Mostly inspired by all the acrylic paintings I see on these blogs, but I miss my watercolors after a painting or two in acrylic.
