acrylic on canvas board, "Breakfast with a View" © Maria T Reichert 2011 |
Met this mare and foal on a farm outside Oklahoma City, a quarter horse mare and her foal, I was taken by the morning light and how it played with the colors on these two horses. Not sure if I am finished or not, I will look at it for awhile to decide if I will make any changes. Can't wait to paint again tomorrow, not sure what will be on the easel!
This is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lee, I missed painting while I was traveling!
ReplyDeleteThis is so wonderful, not just the painting but also the subject.
ReplyDeleteAgain.....simply love the light in this one!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by. Your comments mean a lot coming from you. Your work is beautiful! I've been painting for 3 years and still find it a challenge!
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful, tender painting. Well executed, bravo! xx
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful piece. I love the light in this one and the way the mare is looking toward it. You captured a special moment in time.

Thanks to all of you, so happy you like this, acrylic is still quite foreign to me, but so much fun! Set up a separate area of the studio for acrylic, so now I can move back and forth between acrylic and watercolor without swapping out supplies and brushes....Much easier now!
ReplyDeleteA limited palette, yet very rich in color feel, and the light/shadow modeling so well done :)
