pumpkin patch painting in acrylic

"The Great Pumpkin", 8 by 10 inch acrylic on canvas © Maria Reichert 2011

This was the painting exercise from the daily paintworks challenge, the goal was to paint with adjacent rectangles, each one being a new color.  Goal is to work on value and color.  Harder than I thought and my rectangles became triangles and blobs as I proceeded!  Maybe round pumpkins were not my best choice of subjects.  But fun, got my hands all full of paint!
What's next!?
