"One Starfish At A Time", acrylic on canvas board © Maria T Reichert |
really like people, I mean I just have always "got" animals better, so much easier to understand!
Anyway, the challenge was to paint your hand, these are actually my daughter's hands, while walking the beach at Hilton Head, she ran up and down the shore putting all the starfish back into the water.
I remember a book about a little child trying to save the starfish and the adult trying to explain that there was no way the child could save all of the stranded starfish, the child seemed confused briefly, then resolved she would save those that she could.
Why is it that kids and animals can see things so clearly.

ReplyDeleteSweet!
ReplyDeleteI love this. :) Such a sweet image and story. And you've nailed the fingers here (which are TRICKY in my opinion).
ReplyDeleteThanks CheyAnne, Carol and Crystal, and Crystal l admire your portraits so much, people are tuff, especially their fingers!
ReplyDeleteMaria, you did a wonderful job with this. I can definitely relate to animals being easier to understand. :) Love this starfish story!
ReplyDeleteThanks Carol, I love the challenges since they get me to try things I probably wouldn't try without a little push!
ReplyDeleteNice post in both painting and sentiments. I like the way the starfish and hands repeat similar shapes- very nice!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful Maria, Love the painting and the dear heart of your daughter. Take care, Love,Diana
ReplyDeleteThank you Diana, glad you like it, maybe I should hang it at home to remember the thought, one at at time....
