Saving The World, One Starfish At A Time, acrylic painting starfish Hilton Head Island South Carolina

"One Starfish At A Time", acrylic on canvas board  © Maria T Reichert

My go at the Daily Paintworks Challenge, now mind you I don't usually paint people, I don't
really like people, I mean I just have always "got" animals better, so much easier to understand!

Anyway, the challenge was to paint your hand, these are actually my daughter's hands, while walking the beach at Hilton Head, she ran up and down the shore putting all the starfish back into the water.

I remember a book about a little child trying to save the starfish and the adult trying to explain that there was no way the child could save all of the stranded starfish, the child seemed confused briefly, then resolved she would save those that she could.

Why is it that kids and animals can see things so clearly.

  1. I love this. :) Such a sweet image and story. And you've nailed the fingers here (which are TRICKY in my opinion).
