chocolate lab portrait in watercolor 8 by 10 inches on paper ©Maria Reichert 2011 |
Have neglected my blogging lately while scurrying around in this holiday season! I delivered this to his family this weekend and they were happy with him, so I thought I might share with you. I really loved the eyes on this dog, so sweet.
It's wonderful and I'm sure they'll enjoy it for years to come.
ReplyDeleteThank you Carol
ReplyDeleteHe is so adorable, Maria! His eyes are fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThanks Judy, I think I need to dedicate a month to eyes, dog eyes, horse eyes people eyes, they are tricky little things!
ReplyDeleteOh Maria! He is so cute!! And I think you have the eyes down pretty good there! You have really captured him! Love it :)
ReplyDeleteI can see why they were so happy - you've done a brilliant job. His eyes are very soulful indeed xx
ReplyDeleteThank you thank you! Hardest part with him was not getting his eyes to high, I wanted to show off his big, broad lab head! Look forward to doing another dog portrait, next two will be horses again!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful portrait, Maria! Have fun on your next ones, and can't wait to see them also.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sheryl, I will share more when I am allowed. Hope you are starting to feel the holiday spirit, snow today is making it feel like Christmas is getting near!
ReplyDeleteWow, awesome job on this one!! Love it!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous work! The eyes tell it all!
ReplyDeleteOh, his expression is so alive, I feel his presence when looking at him! I feel a personality, not just a dog. Very beautiful portrait! I much like your colors too, I have a problem keeping darks from getting muddy.
ReplyDeleteThank you Carol and Blaga, I struggle a bit with getting my darks a bit muddy myself, I don't always know when to stop adding colors! Hoping to learn my color combos a bit better this year!?
ReplyDeleteyour paintings are just beautiful, I have joined as a follower so I will keep up with your posts,
ReplyDeleteI really like the soft expression in his eyes...
ReplyDeleteThank you Laurie, hope to post more often in 2012, have so many ideas in mind! And thanks Arena, that was the most important thing I wanted to show in this painting, his eyes, so happy that you were drawn to them!
