"She just couldn't decide between being an artist when she grew up and being a vet. Her mother responded, you don't have to decide sweet girl. you can be both."
My entry for the Daily Paintworks Challenge, The Wheel Challenge. This was the only reference photo in my photo library of wheels... I titled it "Let's Roll". I do enjoy watching a horse doing what they enjoy, and some of them do love speed!
Wow, this is just gorgeous! I love how you managed to preserve the transparency despite the dark hews. And the movement is perfect! When I dare to paint a horse I'll have much to learn from you.
Thanks Pat, My husband works at these tracks quite a bit and we used to spend a lot of time there before children, so many horses just seem to love the speed. Thanks Blaga, definitely the hardest part to paint was the wheel! so round and precise, I struggle a bit with precise.....
Maria, I LOVE this so very much!!! You really have caught the excitement of the race. My horse, Bruno, was a pacer for several years.
ReplyDeleteThank you Kathryn, they are such wonderful horses!
ReplyDeleteI've only seen these kind of races on the tv, but you've captured the fast paced excitement, for sure! xx
