Wave Your Flag

Fourth of July Parade yesterday to watch my son play in the marching band.  A great time to watch people, loved the expression of this little girl riding on a float and waving her flag, so sincere and in the moment.  Had a few minutes to try and capture her sweet face on paper.

      Thank you! It was such a hot morning, and yet everyone was so happy, it was such a nice day.

    this is great Maria - we have an annual jubilee in our town the second Tuesday of July and I'm planning on getting some sketches and paintings of childen waving their flags - there's always a special atmosphere

      It was so nice and so moving to see the veterans in the parade as well, I really enjoyed watching the kids and parents and grandparents, all so happy. Look forward to seeing your upcoming work.

      Thank you Lee! I am determined to sketch daily, I have my sketch pads stashed all over the house and my car.... would love to try some charcoal for sketching.
