Watching Paint Dry

11 by 14 watercolor on Aquaboard ©Maria 2012
Working on small painting for a friend, and while waiting for the washes to dry, I wandered over to this reference photo. This robin often sits outside my kitchen window, too big for the bird house, he perches on the shepherds hook and keeps watch over my yard.   Thought he might like to be my model today :)

  1. Hello Maria:) What a lovely bird house. I think the bird is waiting for you to make him a bigger house! Love the painting, so sweet!

    1. Ha Ha, I think you may be right! I wondered why he looks in the window at me that way EVERY day! So I must put away the paintbrushes and get out the hammer and nails!?

  2. Fun way to spend waiting time. Watercolor makes you think and makes you wait.

    1. Thanks Leenie! I must confess, I am not very good at waiting.....it helps for me to have something else to work on, and let my washes dry...although it does NOT help my focus, I get off track so easily! I will get back to the black horse today, promise :)
