So...making progress on this commissioned piece of artwork. Taking it slowly, trying to not lose my values by painting too fast, hope to finish it this week though. Worked from two different photos for this portrait. Found the challenge to be keeping the values and measurements consistent between the two photos.
For my horse lovers, please don't forget their vaccines :) Mosquito born sickness has been tough this year.
Oh, Maria, the commission is coming along so beautifully!
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for the vaccination reminder. :)
Hello Maria:) Love your beautiful horses. The brown color is wonderful! I can't wait to see the finished painting!
ReplyDeletethanks so much :) This one seems to be taking me a lo....ng time, but I will post when I finish, hopefully soon!
DeleteRegarding the mosquito born illness, all over the country or specific "hot" spots.. I can't wait to see the finished painting.
ReplyDeleteHi Margaret, it seems nationwide the cases of Eastern Equine Encephalitis and West Nile are the highest they have been in many years, but of course it will vary locally and there will be hotspots, concentrating in certain areas. My daughter shows her horse, and travels so much with her, I am aggressive with vaccinating her mare. And thank you, I am glad you like this painting, hope to finish and post the finished painting soon :)
DeleteViewed the finished product and then found it in progress here. I know what you mean for getting there too quickly on values with watercolors. You have done a beautiful job on these - love the color!
ReplyDeletethank you Pattie, I am learning......the more looking I do, and the slower the painting, I can see those values, I tend to lose them when I get too excited and too much in a hurry, but it is so....hard for me to slow down!
