I finished these last two paintings of the challenge, late last night.  I would like to thank Leslie Saeta for the challenge, for allowing us to post photos on her blog, and thank each of you for your kind comments.

I think the biggest growing point for me and my painting this last month was to push through and make a decision.  Right or Wrong, choose a reference photo, commit to a color palette, focus on one composition, pick the paint brush, make that first (and second!) brush stroke.  Honestly, although I do like to take more time with a painting, I know that when the choices get tough, I often don't make a choice, and leave a painting unfinished, or take way too long with the process.  Attempting a painting a day pushed me to make the choice without my usual delay.

Thank you so much for following along with me, it means so ....much.
Take a look at all the amazing artists who participated in this challenge On Leslie Saeta's blog.

  1. Knew the Siberian Husky immediately but haven't heard of an "Aussie" before. I thought it was a Brittany Spaniel pup. Oh...maybe an Australian Cattle Dog? Just wondering out loud...The paintings are just exquisite!

    1. Thank you! You have been so nice following along with my crazy challenge, I really appreciate all of your comments. The second one was an Australian Shepherd! You were close with the Australian Cattle Dog, they are so similar the cattle dog has a bit shorter hair I think!

    1. Thank you Diana! I am a bit relieved to be done, I must confess, it is hard to paint that much, I think it was good for my painting but I am looking forward to going much slower with my next paintings, thank you for your comments on them, it is so encouraging to me :)

  3. They are both beautiful and I love the color and light in them, as well as the expressions. We have an Aussie and he is so smart! He's big and furry and looks like a teddy bear!
