8 by 8 watercolor on paper ©Maria's Watercolor Art.  Prints for sale here HERE

This is Vida resting.  My friend's kitty, which she found on the side of the highway.  I think Vida has adjusted well to her new life :)

  2. I love the feeling that she's resting in a box; such a great format, Maria. You've so beautifully captured personality too.

    1. I liked that square composition as soon as I saw this photo on Instagram. So lucky my friends love animals as much as me, gives me so much material to work with!

    1. Thank you Kathryn, I really needed to work on something light and fresh, my last portrait of the three dogs, left me a bit worn out. This was the perfect ticket.

    1. My friend tells me she has quite the personality. When they saw her on the side on the road, they said she was skinny and soaking wet, and the hawks were circling overhead, but as soon as they scooped her up, and dried her off, she was full of life and ready to be a part of the family!!

  5. Aww! I'm glad she is adjusting well. And that the hawks didn't carry her off!

    1. Me too Linda! My friends loved her painting and said she is so feisty, the family dog is afraid of her! But, very loving, jumps in the middle of the newspaper when they are reading, cuddles in bed at nap time, not your typical feral cat :)
