"Willie"  8 by 10 watercolor on Arches cold press paper ©Maria's Watercolor Art, prints are available HERE
This was the last Christmas Commission I painted for 2013.  I had previously decided that I would take no more, when I received a special request from a friend of my daughter's.

She wanted it done for her mom, and thought it would be the perfect gift, as her mom struggled with the loss of the cat she had for 18 years.

I finished and delivered it the Friday before Christmas, in a bit of a hustle with all the other Christmas errands.

She wrote me the sweetest note yesterday about how her mom said it was "the best Christmas gift she had ever received" and felt like it kept Willie with them in the family.

Honestly, I was so touched by this request from a teenager and the follow up note.  And the kindness and sensitivity behind the gift.  I feel like it was a gift to me to be able to provide this for them.  Such a blessing.
